The GROM party is calling for significant compensation for the families of the deceased and injured in Kočani, as well as the resignation of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. They believe the current government has inadequately addressed the tragedy and failed to take political responsibility.
GROM proposes the government immediately submit an irrevocable resignation and VMRO-DPMNE nominate a new prime minister-designate.
The party suggests a compensation of 500,000 euros be paid to each family of the deceased. They also propose categorizing the injured from the Puls disco fire based on the severity of their injuries and awarding corresponding compensation.
Those with severe and permanent damage should also receive 500,000 euros each, along with 30,000 euros annually for life. People with moderate injuries requiring long-term rehabilitation should be paid 300,000 euros once and receive 15,000 euros annually. Individuals with minor injuries who were hospitalized should receive 100,000 euros each and 10,000 euros for the next 3 years.
GROM emphasizes that all affected citizens should retain the right to pursue legal action if dissatisfied with the state’s compensation.
Furthermore, GROM urges the Public Prosecutor’s Office and judicial institutions to expedite the prosecution of those directly responsible for the incident. They state the government has attempted to personalize responsibility without taking broader accountability. GROM insists that the state must support citizens who have lost their lives or suffered permanent consequences due to institutional failures.
