Government Approves Program for Cultural Facility Development and Ecological Bus Purchase

The government has approved a program for constructing new cultural facilities and renovating existing ones, alongside plans to purchase ecological buses for public transport. The cultural program encompasses 11 project activities managed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and national cultural institutions.

Specifically, the cultural program will continue construction of a theater and library in Tetovo, the NU Turkish Theater – Skopje, and the Old Theater in Strumica. It also funds the ongoing reconstruction of the Kumanovo theater, the start of reconstruction on the NU Museum of Macedonia, and the renovation of the former Partizan cinema in Bitola for the NU National Theater – Bitola. The budget for these cultural activities in 2025 is 123,775,000 denars.

In addition to the cultural program, the government is moving forward with the purchase of 120 ecological buses. Eighty of these buses are designated to renew the fleet of JSP-Skopje to improve public transport. The remaining 40 buses will be distributed to local self-government units based on economic justification and need.

The acquisition of ecological buses aims to improve public transportation services, reduce air pollution in municipalities, and promote sustainable development and environmental protection.
