The government has approved a program for cultural facility construction and renovation, alongside the purchase of ecological buses for public transport.
At its 65th session, the government adopted the Program for the construction of new facilities and the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and adaptation of existing cultural facilities for 2025, allocating 123,775,000 denars for its implementation. The program includes 11 project activities led by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and various national cultural institutions. Key projects include continuing construction on a new theater and library in Tetovo, the Turkish Theater in Skopje, and the Old Theater in Strumica. The reconstruction of the theater in Kumanovo will continue, while the National Museum of Macedonia and the former Partizan cinema in Bitola will undergo reconstruction, rehabilitation, and adaptation.
Additionally, the government reviewed and adopted information from the Ministry of Transport regarding interest from local governments in purchasing ecological buses. With allocated funds, plans are in place to acquire 120 ecological buses, with 80 urgently needed for JSP-Skopje’s fleet renewal and public transport improvement. The remaining 40 buses will be distributed based on economic feasibility and local needs.
The ecological bus purchase aims to enhance service quality for citizens, reduce air pollution in municipalities, promote sustainable development, and protect the environment.
