Government Aims to Modernize Public Finance Management

The government and the Ministry of Finance are working to implement European standards for managing public finances responsibly, aiming for efficient fund management, transparency, and institutional accountability. Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska announced this at the 5th International Controlling Conference in Skopje, which focused on controlling processes in both private and public sectors.

The Minister highlighted the conference’s theme, comparing controlling to a Rubik’s cube, which helps bring order to complexity by transforming chaos into strategy and connecting system parts into a functional whole. She emphasized that controlling is essential in both sectors. In the private sector, it enables timely result monitoring, planning, resource allocation, and profitability improvement, aiding development and sustainable business creation.

Efficient management of public finances, institutions, and developed enterprises contribute to overall national advancement. Therefore, the state is committed to reform, and the private sector’s adoption of these processes is vital for its own development, thereby influencing the nation’s progress. Individual plans lead to collective achievements.

The controlling process is crucial for both private and public sectors, as the individual development of companies leads to higher economic growth in the country, which aligns with a key government priority.

The Minister of Finance is among the first certified controllers in Macedonia, having completed a one-year controlling academy by the Management Center Belgrade, licensed by CA AKADEMIE AG in Munich. She applied this knowledge throughout her extensive career in the private sector.
