Gostivar leaves the field, the Football Federation of Macedonia announces: We will not allow blackmail and pressure

The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) has strongly condemned FC Gostivar’s abandonment of their First Macedonian Football League match against FC Rabotnicki, vowing to combat corruption and ensure the integrity of the competition. The incident occurred in the 85th minute after Rabotnicki scored to take a 2-1 lead, prompting the Gostivar players to leave the field.

The FFM released a statement denouncing Gostivar’s actions as a “shameful act” and a betrayal of the football public and fair play. The federation revealed that match officials were informed before the game that Gostivar would withdraw if the result was not in their favor, indicating a premeditated plan.

The FFM believes this incident is a direct response to recent efforts to crack down on crime and corruption within Macedonian football. They allege that individuals accustomed to privileges are resisting the new emphasis on regulations, transparency, and fair play.

Despite Gostivar’s actions, the FFM insists that the First MFL championship will continue according to the rules and regulations. They are determined to eliminate criminal elements and corruption from football and will not succumb to blackmail or pressure.

The federation affirmed its commitment to fighting for clean football and ensuring a regular, honest, and dignified environment for the sport in Macedonia. They declared that Voska and Gostivar will not be allowed to tarnish Macedonian football and will face the consequences of their actions.
