The Municipality of Gjorche Petrov convened a coordination meeting with primary school directors and Ministry of Interior representatives to bolster safety protocols in schools. A key focus was the adoption of a Protocol for safe school evacuation and managing panic during emergencies.
The protocol aims to systematically and effectively safeguard students and staff from threats like fire, earthquakes, smoke, or other emergencies. The municipality intends to foster a secure and calm learning environment through well-defined procedures and training.
Key components of the protocol include biannual training for students and teachers, education on identifying and managing panic, practical evacuation drills, clearly marked evacuation routes and maps in each school, a distinct alarm system separate from the standard bell, and protocol activation during real emergencies or as directed by authorities.
