Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, Gjoko Velkovski, participated in an event celebrating Social Workers’ Day on June 10th, and the recently observed Social Work Day. Velkovski expressed gratitude to social workers for their dedication, describing their profession as “humanity” and acknowledging their invaluable effort in changing lives and society’s spirit.
During the event organized by the Association of Social Workers of Macedonia – ZSRM, Velkovski recognized the challenges faced by social workers but praised their resilience and problem-solving abilities. He emphasized their role in building bridges between people and providing opportunities for those who are lost.
Velkovski also highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to supporting social workers by creating a system that provides better working conditions, resources, and training. He concluded by thanking them for their humane work and wishing them continued success. The event, entitled: “Celebrating Social Work – for lasting well-being, a common future and strong solidarity!” was attended by social workers and professors from the Institute of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Philosophy, Skopje. The aim of the celebration was to affirm the importance of social work and the role of social workers in various areas of activity.
