Venko Filipche, President of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), has stated that Prime Minister Mickoski’s idea of a joint resolution with Bulgaria in the European Parliament concerning the Macedonian language is a frivolous matter. He believes that such important matters should be discussed in the Assembly, where all political parties can participate.
Filipche made his remarks in response to a journalist’s question regarding Mickoski’s statement. He emphasized the need for a serious and inclusive approach to the issue, rather than treating it as a tool for daily political gain by VMRO-DPMNE.
According to Filipche, VMRO-DPMNE owes the public an explanation regarding their strategy for overcoming obstacles to European integration. He questioned whether the party has a well-defined plan for diplomatic engagement and a concrete strategy for unblocking the path to EU membership.
Filipche stated that his party would support such a proposal if it were presented in the Assembly. He stressed the importance of cross-party collaboration on matters of national significance.
