Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, expressed her support today for the announcement by United States President Donald Trump regarding a temporary halt in the application of reciprocal tariffs.
Von der Leyen emphasized the importance of clear and predictable conditions for effective trade and supply chains, stating that tariffs ultimately harm businesses and consumers.
She reiterated her consistent advocacy for a “zero for zero” tariff agreement between the European Union and the United States.
The announcement follows Trump’s statement yesterday that all tariffs would cease, except those on China, which are set to increase from 104 to 125 percent, according to reports.
