An 81-year-old woman in Skopje was scammed out of 3,000 euros after a man falsely claimed her son had caused a traffic accident. The scammer, posing as a police officer, convinced her that paying him would prevent her son from going to prison.

The woman left the money at a designated location following the phone call. She only realized she had been deceived after her daughter-in-law returned home from work.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed the report and stated that police are currently investigating the case and taking measures to clarify the circumstances.
