DUI Condemns Government’s Exclusion of Albanian Representatives in UAE Visit

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has strongly criticized the Prime Minister and the government for proceeding with a week-long visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without including any representatives from Albanian political parties. The DUI views this action as a demonstration of disrespect towards coalition partners and the Albanian community.

The DUI asserts that the government’s decision highlights the insignificance attributed to Albanian parties within the governing coalition, reducing them to mere “silent statistics” with no meaningful input in shaping state policies. The absence of Albanian representatives in a state delegation focused on economic and political relations sends a message that Albanians are not considered stakeholders in the nation’s future.

According to DUI, this exclusion extends beyond political parties and constitutes a broader humiliation for all Albanians, disregarding their expertise, business sector, diaspora, and overall contribution to the country. The party believes the government is creating a division among citizens, where some are treated as the rightful owners of the state while others are relegated to the status of guests.

As a party committed to advocating for equality, participation, and the dignity of Albanians, the DUI has voiced that it cannot remain silent in the face of such actions. The DUI insists that these actions underscore the government’s failure to acknowledge and respect the multi-ethnic nature of the state, replacing equality with disregard and partnership with humiliation.

The DUI is calling upon the Prime Minister to issue a public apology to the Albanian community and to clarify whether this exclusion reflects his vision for the future of the country. The party also urges Albanian parties within the government to reflect on whether their silence makes them complicit in this perceived discrimination. The DUI reaffirms its commitment to serving as the voice and protector of the Albanian people and vows to resist the normalization of policies of neglect and asymmetry.
