DUI Calls for Accountability and Condemns Ethnic Tensions Following Kochani Fire

Following the tragic fire in Kochani, which claimed the lives of 60 young people, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) is demanding accountability and adherence to safety standards. The party is criticizing the current VMRO-DPMNE government, led by Prime Minister Mickoski, accusing it of attempting to evade responsibility and stir up ethnic tensions.

DUI claims that instead of taking decisive action against those truly responsible, the government is trying to divert attention by unjustly arresting Albanians. The party views these arrests as a smokescreen to cover up government failures and a tactic to incite ethnic discord.

DUI strongly condemns the recent arrests of individuals they believe are unconnected to the tragedy. They argue that these actions lack evidence from Mickoski’s institutions and are politically motivated. The party suggests that individuals are being used as scapegoats, while those in powerful positions, including current ministers and directors, are escaping scrutiny despite their alleged responsibility.

DUI is urging institutions to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the Kochani tragedy, based on concrete evidence. The party insists that those genuinely responsible be held accountable, irrespective of their political affiliation.
