DUI Alleges Ethnic Discrimination in Ministry of Agriculture Competition

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has voiced strong concerns regarding the recent competition announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, asserting that no Albanians were selected for state advisor positions. According to DUI, the results show a 10-0 outcome, indicating a complete absence of Albanian representation among those appointed.

DUI claims this situation exemplifies a systematic effort by the current government to exclude Albanians from state and public institutions. They argue that this plan, allegedly conceived in 2022, is being executed through administrative, political, and constitutional decisions.

DUI believes the core issue involves deliberate discrimination against Albanians, aiming to diminish their role in state-building and institutional processes. They contend this process started with attacks on fair representation, denial of ethnic self-identification, attempts to abolish the use of the Albanian language, and the practical elimination of bilingualism in public institutions.

The party further alleges that the Constitutional Court, under the influence of the government, is undermining the Ohrid Agreement, establishing a dangerous precedent that disrupts inter-ethnic balance and risks reverting the state to a mono-ethnic system.

DUI asserts that the Ministry of Agriculture case is part of a broader agenda, where the exclusion of Albanians is disguised under the guise of “professionalism” and “competence.” They emphasize that Albanians are being excluded not due to a lack of skills, but because of their ethnic background. DUI also criticizes the remaining Albanian “representatives” as being passive observers in what they describe as a shameful situation.

DUI has pledged to continue advocating for equality, justice, and genuine representation of Albanians at all levels of government, condemning any attempts at exclusion, discrimination, and the erosion of historical achievements.
