Driver Arrested After Hitting Elderly Pedestrian in Skopje

A 31-year-old man, E.J., from Skopje, was arrested by police after his car struck an 87-year-old pedestrian in the center of the city. The incident took place on April 25, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM.

The collision occurred at the roundabout located at the intersection of “Kiril i Metodij,” “Mitropolit Teodosij Gologanov,” and “Kosturski Heroi” streets. E.J. was driving a “Volkswagen” passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates when the incident happened. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior. The pedestrian, identified as 87-year-old Ѓ.П. from Skopje, suffered severe injuries.

Following the incident, the injured pedestrian was promptly transported by ambulance to the “Mother Teresa” Clinic Complex. Medical personnel diagnosed Ѓ.П. with severe bodily injuries.

E.J. was apprehended by police officers from the SIA Skopje (Sector for Internal Affairs Skopje) on April 26 at 1:00 AM. Authorities are currently documenting the case. Once completed and in coordination with a public prosecutor, an appropriate criminal complaint will be filed against E.J.
