Two new control points and crossing lines have been opened at the Dojran border crossing, aiming to expedite passenger and vehicle flow. Aleksandar Janev, Director of the Public Security Bureau (PSB) at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, attended the opening ceremony.

According to Janev, the project, a joint initiative with the Dojran border crossing and the Regional Center South, marks a significant upgrade for the crossing after decades. The enhancements are expected to decrease waiting times, particularly during peak seasons.

Janev emphasized the importance of the project not only for the local region but also for the entire country and foreign tourists. He believes that the improved border crossing will boost tourism, economic exchange, and overall connectivity between North Macedonia and Greece.

In addition to the Dojran visit, Janev conducted a working visit to the Bogorodica border crossing to observe passenger and traffic control procedures. He spoke with the newly appointed head of the Bogorodica border crossing and stressed the importance of professionalism, responsibility, and dedication among the police officers stationed there.

Janev also highlighted his commitment to improving working conditions, knowledge, and the modernization of the police force through digital tools. He emphasized that wearing the police uniform is a source of pride and an obligation, representing national values. He concluded by stating the continued commitment to enhancing border infrastructure and ensuring modern, efficient, and secure border crossings for all citizens.
