The Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested detention for four individuals suspected of multiple thefts from a facility belonging to the Public Enterprise Macedonian Railways Infrastructure – Skopje. The suspects are accused of committing four aggravated thefts and attempting a fifth at the facility located on “Serbia” Boulevard.

The thefts, which began earlier this month, involved the suspects forcibly breaking into the facility using physical force and tools to overcome the padlock securing the gate. Once inside, they allegedly stole machinery and other items. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at 1,239,000 denars.

On April 14th, two of the suspects returned to the facility and broke through the metal gate, attempting to steal sheet metal. However, they were discovered by employees and apprehended at the scene.

The public prosecutor has submitted a proposal to the judge of preliminary proceedings of the Basic Criminal Court Skopje to determine a detention measure for all four individuals.
