The Director of the Public Security Bureau, Aleksandar Janev, observed a demonstration exercise at the “Gjorche Petrov” Police Center, showcasing the skills of police officers who completed a six-month training program for the Rapid Deployment Unit (EBR).

The exercise highlighted tactics and techniques in public order and peace maintenance, focusing on police operations within urban settings. The scenarios included restoring disrupted public order on a large scale, simulating an attack on a vehicle, and apprehending armed and dangerous individuals.

Director Janev expressed his appreciation for the officers’ demonstrated skills and readiness. He affirmed that the EBR is a crucial component of the security system, prepared to serve citizens and ensure their safety at all times. He also thanked the Unit’s commander, managers, instructors, mentors, and the management of the Department for Special Police Operations for their contributions.

The demonstration featured an approach to and entry into a building housing a criminal terrorist group, the neutralization of the group, and the arrest of its members. Armored vehicles, an unmanned aerial vehicle (“drone”), and other specialized equipment were utilized during the exercise.
