Skopje Pride Weekend 2025 will feature a series of dance performances exploring themes of identity, oppression, and resistance, beginning June 12th and running through June 14th. The performances are part of the Queer-Feminist Culture, Art and Theory Festival.
On June 14th, the festival concludes with “Dissolutions” by Maja Zećo at KSP Jadro at 8:00 PM. This performance, a layered response to armed conflict, trauma, and loss, uses visual and auditory elements to explore the body in uncertainty. It is presented in partnership with the Feminist Culture Festival Prvo pa žensko and KSP Jadro, and coincides with the opening of Zećo’s solo exhibition “Discomfited Futures.”
Aleksandar Georgiev – Ace will present “Atrás,” a choreographic solo, on June 13th at 8:30 PM in MKC. This performance, examining the back of the body, utilizes a decolonial and anti-capitalist approach to challenge Western European dance traditions and explore themes of shame, guilt, and censorship.
The festival commences on June 12th at 8:30 PM in MKC with Igor Koruga’s dance performance “Unstable Comrades.” The piece critically examines the impact of capitalism, patriarchy, and other oppressive systems on personal spheres through contemporary dance. Inspired by queer Marxism, it envisions the stage as a space for exploring identity, vulnerability, and resistance.
