Three individuals, including a former mayor, face criminal charges for alleged abuse of official position and authority related to a public procurement project in the municipality of Lozovo.
A.V. (48) from Lozovo, the former mayor, T.G. (51) from Skopje, and L.L. (68) from Skopje are accused of enabling a legal entity to illegally gain 205,800 denars and causing equivalent damage to the Lozovo municipality budget in 2018.
The investigation revealed that A.V., while serving as mayor, initiated a public procurement for the construction of a pedestrian path in Lozovo. Subsequently, a legal entity from Studenicani was chosen as the winning bidder, with T.G. appointed as the construction manager.
Following the completion of construction works in March 2019, false information was allegedly recorded in the construction book and log, indicating the installation of 381 square meters of bekaton tiles, valued at 205,800 denars.
T.G., as the construction manager, and L.L., as the construction supervisor, are accused of signing the falsified documents. Despite knowing the discrepancies, A.V. purportedly approved the payment of 205,800 denars exceeding the actual work completed.
