Criminal charges have been filed against G.S., a 48-year-old resident of Ohrid, for “negligent performance of service.” The Ohrid Sector for Internal Affairs has brought the charges against the individual.
The charges stem from alleged financial mismanagement during a folk festival in 2023. G.S. was the director of the National Institution – Center for Culture – “Grigor Prlichev” in Ohrid at the time of the incident.
An investigation revealed discrepancies between the invoiced amount for accommodation and the actual number of people housed. A tourist agency issued an invoice for 387,450 denars for the accommodation of 72 people during the festival.
However, records only indicated accommodation for 48 individuals. This discrepancy resulted in damages of 151,290 denars to the national institution. The investigation determined that the institution, under the representation of G.S., suffered the financial loss due to the discrepancy.
