Over the extended holiday weekend, authorities issued 2,508 citations for traffic violations across the country.
Specifically, officials cited 425 instances of improper parking, 959 instances of speeding, and 234 instances of driving without a license. Additionally, they recorded 173 seat belt violations, 50 instances of using a mobile phone while driving, 14 instances of running a red light, and 48 instances of driving under the influence of alcohol.
During this period, 74 vehicles were removed from traffic. Of those, 24 were due to technical issues, and 50 were unregistered.
Authorities plan to continue traffic controls in the coming days and urge citizens to follow traffic laws and regulations to promote road safety.
