The Director of the Service for General and Joint Affairs, Ivica Tomovski, met with representatives of “Skopje Fair” to discuss the construction of a new fair complex in Skopje. The meeting focused on the need for such a complex and its potential to boost economic activity and Macedonia’s international trade profile.
Discussions included potential locations, necessary infrastructure, and innovative features to ensure the new fairgrounds are competitive in both regional and international markets. The goal is to create a modern facility that can host events and attract foreign investment.
Director Tomovski emphasized the importance of the project for economic development, stating that returning “Skopje Fair” to its own facility would revitalize economic activity and strengthen Macedonia’s position as a trade and business hub.
Daniela Gligorovska, Director of “Skopje Fair,” highlighted the benefits of resuming fair activity in a dedicated space, something that hasn’t occurred in several years.
Gligorovska stated that fairs are crucial for promoting Macedonian products and services, fostering foreign investment, and creating opportunities for cooperation. She believes a modern fair complex will unlock new potential and bolster the economy.
Both parties agreed to continue inter-institutional cooperation to thoroughly assess all aspects and opportunities related to constructing the new fair complex.
