A celebration honoring the 73rd birthday of the renowned playwright Goran Stefanovski is scheduled to take place today at the memorial bench in Debar Maalo. The event, titled “Goran is Here,” will feature musical performances, readings, and artistic tributes to Stefanovski’s life and work.

The Municipality of Centar announced that the music group “Audio Skopje” will perform, and selected texts by and about Stefanovski will be read by Sasha Dimitrievska, Mirjana Trpkoska – Kostovska, and Trajanka Ilieva – Veljic.

Friends, actors, and artists who knew Stefanovski will also participate. Darko Veljic will perform pantomime, and Igor Stefanovski, his son, will present a musical set as a tribute to his father.

Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Goran Gerasimovski, emphasized Stefanovski’s significance beyond his writing, describing him as “the conscience of a time.” He highlighted the enduring resonance of Stefanovski’s words in Macedonian culture and the event’s role in honoring his legacy as part of the Culture Program for 2025.

The event is organized by the Citizens’ Association Team Teatros K from Skopje, an organization dedicated to preserving Stefanovski’s memory.
