A celebration honoring the 73rd birthday of the renowned playwright Goran Stefanovski will take place on Sunday, April 27th, at 12:00 PM in Debar Maalo, Skopje. The event, titled “Goran is Here,” will be held at the memorial bench dedicated to Stefanovski, near the plane tree planted in his honor in 2019.

The Municipality of Centar is organizing the event as part of the Culture Program for 2025.

Attendees, including theater enthusiasts, friends, family, and admirers of Stefanovski’s work, will gather to pay tribute to his legacy. Mayor Goran Gerasimovski highlighted Stefanovski’s profound impact, stating that his words continue to resonate within Macedonia’s cultural landscape.

The celebration will feature a performance by the music group “Audio Skopje.” Selected texts by and about Goran Stefanovski will be read by Sasha Dimitrievska, Mirjana Trpkoska-Kostovska, and Trajanka Ilieva-Veljić.

Friends from Stefanovski’s youth, along with actors and artists, will contribute with their performances. Darko Veljić will present a pantomime, and Igor Stefanovski will offer a musical set as a tribute to his father’s spirit. The Citizens’ Association Team Teatros K from Skopje, which has long been dedicated to preserving Stefanovski’s memory, is the organizer of the event.
