Authorities are coordinating the transport from Lithuania of Aleksandar Karadakoski, the 29-year-old manager of the “Puls” disco and the 60th fatality of the Kochani fire.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, via the embassy in Warsaw, is in communication with Karadakoski’s family and Lithuanian officials to complete consular procedures for the body’s return.
Karadakoski, one of the most critically injured in the fire, succumbed to burns in his respiratory tract, according to Nebojsa Nastov, director of the Clinic for Surgical Diseases “St. Naum Ohridski”. Lithuanian doctors found ninety percent of his respiratory organs were burned.
Health Minister Arben Taravari had previously stated Karadakoski was in critical condition, suffering kidney failure, requiring dialysis, and had extensive second and third-degree burns over 36 percent of his body, leading to a high risk of infection.
The Prosecutor’s Office has discontinued proceedings against Karadakoski following his death.
