Law enforcement officials have arrested two individuals and seized a significant quantity of undocumented marijuana at a cannabis farm in Gostivar, North Macedonia. The operation raises suspicions that the company was diverting cannabis for illegal sale.
The Ministry of the Interior announced the discovery of numerous violations of the Law on Control of Narcotic Drugs during a search and inspection of the facility. This prompted concerns the cannabis production was intended for the illicit market.
The company, owned by a 52-year-old Albanian national (A.K.) and a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (A.R.), was found to be storing nine plastic barrels filled with dried cannabis flower without proper documentation.
During the search, which was conducted in the presence of one of the owners and manager, A.K., and an employee, Dzh.I., 39, from Slovenia, irregularities were identified. Cannabis was also discovered drying in two halls.
Following the findings, authorities seized the cannabis plants and dried flower and handed them over to the Agency for Management of Confiscated Property. The owner and the employee were taken into custody based on instructions from a public prosecutor.
