Arben Taravari stated that current political events require reasonable decisions, speaking before the Alliance for Albanians party assembly in Gostivar. He addressed the possibility of a coalition with other Albanian parties in Macedonia, confirming they are currently coalition partners within VLEN. Taravari indicated their intention to seek a solution but acknowledged the possibility of running independently in the upcoming elections.
He verified a constructive meeting with Izet Mejiti four days prior, lasting almost two hours. He also confirmed a brief greeting with DUI opposition leader Ali Ahmeti during a meeting with Albania’s President Bajram Begaj. Taravari clarified he would greet any politician except the leader of Levica.
Isen Shabani, the mayor of Vrapcishte and former vice-president of Zijadin Sela’s wing of the party, attended the assembly. Shabani expressed his intention to run as an independent candidate, seeking support from the Taravari wing. He emphasized his presence was to promote unity within the Alliance for Albanians.
The party assembly’s agenda includes discussions on the current political situation and local elections. A declaration addressing the tragedy in Kochani was also adopted.
