The Alliance for Albanians has expelled Muhsin Arifi from the party due to suspicions of accepting a bribe to admit an immobile person into a facility. Arifi was also dismissed from his position as President of the Saraj Branch while awaiting a final court decision.
The investigation indicates Arifi, aware of the patient’s wealth, initially demanded a 100,000 euro bribe. Following negotiations, he allegedly agreed to accept 20,000 euros to facilitate the patient’s admission to the hospital.
According to a statement from the party of Minister of Health Arben Taravari, their code of ethics mandates high moral, legal, and professional integrity for political representatives. It also requires members of management to act in accordance with the law, the party’s program and statute, and to avoid personal financial or material gain.
