VMRO-DPMNE has strongly criticized SDS and former Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, accusing them of enabling criminal activity and providing Macedonian passports to international criminals. The opposition party alleges that during SDS’s seven-year rule, Zaev, along with others, protected criminal gangs, leading to unresolved thefts and murders.
The party’s statement questions whether former Health Minister Filipche intends to emulate Zaev’s alleged actions of colluding with and protecting criminal clans. They reference instances of violence in Skopje during SDS’s governance, likening it to the “Wild West” with public murders and mafia-style shootings.
VMRO-DPMNE further accuses Zaev and Spasovski of trading in foreign identities by issuing falsified Macedonian passports to 215 criminals worldwide, including drug lords and murderers, thus damaging the country’s reputation.
According to the statement, these individuals have been able to commit crimes globally due to the Macedonian passports provided by SDS and Zaev. VMRO-DPMNE asserts that Zaev and Filipche are “traders in identities” and that SDS has humiliated the state and violated the dignity of Macedonian citizens.
VMRO-DPMNE asserts that its government is dedicated to safeguarding stability, security, state symbols, and the dignity of its citizens. They characterize SDS as synonymous with betrayal, incompetence, and crime.
