The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has voiced serious concerns about the current direction of the government, suggesting that it is leading the country astray and prompting calls for a new political evaluation. The DUI believes that the government’s actions necessitate early parliamentary elections to address these issues.
According to the DUI, the government is failing in its priorities, especially regarding matters of strategic importance, seemingly abandoning the country’s European integration efforts. The party claims that the government is prioritizing populist motives over the country’s long-term interests, particularly in anticipation of upcoming local elections.
The DUI alleges that the Prime Minister is publicly circumventing obligations arising from agreements with Greece. This, according to the DUI, is a clear indication that the government has been completely diverted from its European agenda, which it had previously identified as its top priority.
The DUI also criticizes the government’s handling of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, suggesting that its actions are undermining the multi-ethnic character of the state. They argue that this disruption poses a threat to the long-term stability and prosperity of the country.
Furthermore, the DUI accuses the government of capturing the judicial system and using it for personal and party gain. They claim that the government’s actions demonstrate a clear need for a political re-evaluation.
The DUI believes that early parliamentary elections, held in conjunction with local elections, are necessary to restore long-term political stability. The party suggests that this would provide a window of opportunity for political elites to engage in a crucial political process to revive the country’s European prospects and rejoin the European path alongside Albania and Montenegro.
