Levica Condemns Inaccurate Asset Declarations by VMRO-DPMNE Officials

Levica has strongly criticized VMRO-DPMNE officials for allegedly submitting unprofessional and superficial asset declaration forms, calling it a blatant disregard for legal obligations and a serious threat to the transparency and integrity of public functions.

The party asserts that the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) should be more vigilant in enforcing the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest, which mandates that officials comprehensively report their assets and those of their families.

Levica highlights several specific examples of alleged irregularities. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, is cited as declaring five properties, including an apartment in Karposh valued at 2.39 denars and a house in Gabrovo valued at 28 denars, both purportedly owned by his spouse. Additionally, his spouse allegedly owns another apartment in Karposh valued at 3.5 denars.

DPMNE MP Beti Stamenkoska-Trajkoska is mentioned as owning shares in Stopanska Banka, Makstil, and ZK Pelagonija acquired in 2005. Despite reporting a loan, she has declared three motor vehicles in her spouse’s name and building land valued at 0 denars. Levica notes the absence of bank account information in her declaration, despite the legal requirement to declare all family property.

MP Ivanka Vasilevska is also singled out, with Levica noting that she declared an apartment in Centar with an area of 99 square meters and a value of only 1 denar.

Levica questions why the SCPC is seemingly tolerating these alleged violations, arguing that the lack of serious verification undermines public trust and encourages officials to conceal their true assets. The party insists that corruption cannot be prevented by ignoring such manipulations.

Levica has announced its intention to publicly disclose further irregularities related to asset declarations in the coming period to prompt the SCPC to take appropriate action. The party demands an immediate revision of all officials’ asset declaration forms and the prosecution of those who provide incorrect or false data to circumvent their legal obligations.
