SDSM MP Trenchevska Demands Minister Taravari’s Resignation Amid Healthcare Crisis

SDSM MP Jovana Trenchevska has called for the resignation of Minister of Health Arben Taravari, citing numerous scandals and a healthcare system riddled with chaos, uncertainty, and patient suffering. Speaking from the parliamentary rostrum, Trenchevska accused the current government of leading the healthcare system to the brink of collapse.

Trenchevska asserted that in just ten months, the Government and Minister Taravari have brought the healthcare system to a state beyond repair, with every sector affected by incompetence and neglect, ultimately jeopardizing the health of citizens. She stated that instead of safeguarding and improving citizens’ health, the system is now endangering lives.

According to Trenchevska, Taravari prioritized personal business interests over essential investments in healthcare. She specifically criticized the controversial tender for the clinical parking lot with the company Gjoka, labeling it as criminal and scandalous. She added that instead of reforms and enhanced services, healthcare is facing chaos and humanitarian disasters. She highlighted that almost every clinic is grappling with issues related to therapy, equipment, or staffing, causing immense distress to patients seeking medical assistance.

Trenchevska directly questioned Taravari’s awareness of the dire situation within healthcare. She further inquired whether he prioritized calculations for local elections and addressing issues related to the anthem and coat of arms over crucial matters such as the economy, salaries, and healthcare. She sees this alleged prioritization as evidence of the government’s disinterest and indifference towards its own people, emphasizing the need for accountability regarding what she described as a humanitarian disaster.

In conclusion, Trenchevska directly asked Taravari if he felt responsible for the suffering experienced by patients due to the dysfunctional healthcare system and whether he would resign in light of the numerous scandals plaguing the sector.
