Criminal charges have been filed against two individuals, D.I. (22) from Tetovo and K.K. (38) from Skopje, by the Tetovo police for allegedly misusing personal data and performing their service negligently.
The investigation revealed that on March 15, 2024, D.I., an employee of a Skopje-based legal entity, and K.K., the manager of the same entity, misused the personal data of a Tetovo resident who had previously lost their identification card.
The suspects allegedly used the stolen identity to facilitate a payment of 4,800 denars in realized profit to their company.
As a consequence of this illicit financial activity, the victim subsequently received a notification in August from the Public Institution Intermunicipal Center for Social Work Tetovo, informing them of the termination of their right to social security benefits for the elderly. This termination was a direct result of the misused personal data and the associated fraudulent profit payment.
