Modern Industrial Equipment Donated to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje has received a donation of modern industrial equipment to enhance its Laboratory for Production Technologies and Processes. The donation, valued at 72,000 euros, consists of metal-cutting CNC machines provided by LTH Learnica Ohrid.

The new equipment will significantly improve the practical training available to students at the faculty.

Speaking at the donation event, the Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, encouraged greater involvement from the business community in improving Macedonia’s education system, particularly in higher education.

Janevska emphasized the need for well-trained engineers ready to enter the workforce and highlighted the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and the business sector. She cited the donation as a prime example of successful networking and urged more faculties and companies to form similar partnerships, reinforcing both the educational and industrial systems in the country.

The Minister stressed that investments in modern educational resources benefit society as a whole and represent an investment in the future of young people.

The government is actively mapping the scientific and research infrastructure of universities to inform future investments. This year’s budget for science has nearly doubled compared to last year, reaching 680 million denars, with a portion of these funds allocated to strengthening laboratory resources.

Janevska also announced the development of two new legal solutions aimed at enhancing higher education and scientific research activity.

These solutions are designed to encourage increased scientific research among teaching staff in higher education, with the goal of improving the standing of Macedonian universities in international rankings.
