VMRO-DPMNE has called on SDS to stop humiliating the state, accusing them of defending Bulgarian positions that harm the Macedonian people. The party issued a statement criticizing SDS’s approach to relations with Bulgaria, claiming they are ignoring the true extent of Bulgarian demands.

According to VMRO-DPMNE, the constitutional amendments demanded by Bulgaria are not the final requirement, as stated by the Bulgarian Foreign Minister. They accuse SDS of brazen public relations, misleadingly suggesting that implementing the amendments will guarantee EU accession.

VMRO-DPMNE further alleges that SDS has made concessions that undermine Macedonian identity, such as claiming Goce Delchev as Bulgarian and the Macedonian language as Bulgarian. The party believes this has led to public disapproval, with citizens punishing SDS for leading the country “into the abyss.”

VMRO-DPMNE asserts it proudly and with dignity represents Macedonia on the international stage.
