A 48-year-old man, E.A., from the village of Tanusevci in the Skopje area, was arrested on suspicion of smuggling after being caught transporting goods without proper documentation. The arrest occurred on April 19, 2025, at approximately 7:20 PM in the village of Pobozje, Municipality of Chucher Sandevo.

Police officers from the Mirkovci Police Department of the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs stopped a “Mercedes” cargo vehicle with Skopje license plates driven by E.A. During the inspection of the vehicle, authorities discovered 192 packages of goods for which E.A. could not provide any documentation.

E.A. was immediately taken into custody and transported to a police station along with the “Mercedes” cargo vehicle. He is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “smuggling” under Article 278 of the Criminal Code.

Authorities are currently documenting the case. Following the completion of the documentation process and in coordination with a public prosecutor, an appropriate report will be filed regarding the incident.
