A 44-year-old man from Shtip, identified as Z.S., was arrested early this morning for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrest occurred at 01:18 in Shtip.

Police officers from SIA Shtip stopped a “Hyundai” passenger vehicle with Shtip license plates, driven by Z.S., during a routine traffic stop.

Measures taken by the officers determined that Z.S. had 1.55 promiles of alcohol in his blood. As a result, he was immediately removed from traffic and detained at the police station.

Authorities will file a report against him under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, which pertains to “reckless driving of a motor vehicle,” after the event is fully documented.
