A minor from Skopje was arrested yesterday for smuggling seven migrants from Egypt near the village of Mrzenci in the Gevgelija region. The arrest occurred on a dirt road near the bridge on the Sermeninska River at approximately 8:00 PM.

The minor was driving a Hyundai vehicle with Skopje license plates that belonged to another vehicle when he was apprehended by police officers from the Bogorodica Border Police Station. A search of the vehicle revealed the migrants.

The driver attempted to flee after being spotted by the police but was quickly caught. He was then taken to a police station.

The migrants have been placed in a reception-transit center. Authorities are currently documenting the case.

An appropriate report will be filed against the minor in coordination with a public prosecutor once the case is fully documented.
