North Macedonia and Hungary Strengthen Cooperation on European Integration

North Macedonia and Hungary have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening relations, particularly in supporting North Macedonia’s accession to the European Union. This commitment was emphasized during a working visit by Hungarian Minister for EU Affairs, János Boka, to North Macedonia, where he met with his counterpart, Orhan Murtezani.

During the visit, ministers held a one-on-one meeting followed by a plenary session focusing on North Macedonia’s European integration and enhancing bilateral cooperation within the EU framework. Hungary reiterated its support for North Macedonia’s EU aspirations and its willingness to share its expertise in the European integration process.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministries for European Affairs of North Macedonia and Hungary. This memorandum establishes a foundation for long-term institutional cooperation, facilitating the exchange of experiences, administrative support, and coordination in harmonizing with European legislation and effectively utilizing European funds.

At a joint press conference, Minister Murtezani highlighted the significance of the visit, emphasizing the strong partnership built on consistency, trust, and a shared vision between North Macedonia and Hungary. He noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation provides an institutional dimension and a stable framework for their already close cooperation, enabling the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and joint efforts to meet European standards.
