Skopje Airport Recognized as a Top Eastern European Airport

Skopje International Airport, operated by TAV Macedonia, has been recognized as one of the top 10 airports in Eastern Europe by Skytrax’s World Airport Awards. The awards, based on passenger votes, were announced at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Madrid.

TAV Macedonia celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and remains committed to providing excellent passenger experiences. General Manager Nejat Kurt expressed happiness with the recognition and pledged continued improvements to airport services.

Other airports managed by TAV Airports, including those in Almaty, Ankara, Izmir, Batumi, Tbilisi, Riga, and Medina, also received recognition in the awards.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are determined by a passenger opinion survey conducted over six months, involving people of over 100 nationalities assessing 575 airports worldwide on key quality indicators. Skytrax has been operating since 1999 and serves as a global benchmark for airport excellence.

The best airports in Eastern Europe for 2025, according to Skytrax, are: 1. Budapest; 2. Sofia; 3. Tbilisi; 4. Tallinn; 5. Riga; 6. Kutaisi; 7. Belgrade; 8. Bucharest; 9. Batumi; 10. Skopje.
