Government Raises Salaries for Healthcare, Education, and Security Employees

The Government has implemented salary increases for employees in healthcare, education, and security over the past six months. These increases aim to improve the financial well-being of essential workers and recognize their contributions.

Educational workers, including all employees in the education sector, have received a 12 percent salary increase. The first portion of this increase, 5 percent, was included in the September salary, paid in October of the previous year. The remaining 7 percent was applied to the March salary, which was paid in April. According to the Government, this increase is intended to restore dignity to educational workers.

Healthcare workers, encompassing nurses, technicians, and administrative staff, have experienced a 15 percent salary increase over the six-month period. Furthermore, general practitioners and gynecologists have seen a 33 percent increase in the capitation point, while dentists have received a 22 percent increase.

Officials within the Ministry of Interior responsible for citizen and state safety and security have been granted a 10 percent salary increase. The Government has allocated 800 million denars from the budget to fund this increase for 12,000 police officers.

The Government has stated that further salary increases are planned by the end of its mandate, with anticipated increases of 46 percent in healthcare and 50 percent in education.
