Recent heavy rainfall caused the Pchinja River’s water level to rise, carrying large amounts of wood downstream and placing pressure on the bridge pillars near the village of Badar in the Municipality of Petrovec.
Citizens alerted the Crisis Management Center (CMC) about the increased water level and debris accumulation, warning of a potential bridge collapse due to the old age and tilted state of some pillars.
The CMC notified the Municipality of Petrovec and AD Vodostopanstvo, urging them to take immediate action to address the dangerous situation.
The Municipality of Petrovec and AD Vodostopanstvo responded by deploying machinery to clear the trees from the riverbed, mitigating the immediate threat to the bridge.
