President Donald Trump will implement an 84 percent tax increase on all Chinese imported goods, according to White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, effectively raising the tariff on these goods to at least 104 percent.

The tariffs will be implemented tonight at 00:01, or tomorrow.

Leavitt said that President Trump believes China desires a deal with the U.S. and must reach an agreement, and retaliatory actions are unacceptable.

Countries that retaliate and mistreat American workers are mistaken.

President Trump will not back down.

Leavitt did not specify conditions under which Trump might lower tariffs on China.
