DMBUC “Ilija Nikolovski-Luj” – Skopje will host the concert “Melody that lasts” on April 9th (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. in the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle.
The concert features performances from the ethnomusicological archive of Dr. Trpko Bitsevski, rarely presented publicly, offering a sound picture from Aegean Macedonia regions.
The program is the result of an educational seminar led by Dr. Dragan Dautovski with participation from faculty and students of the Department of Traditional Music and Dance.
Authentic vocal interpretations are mentored by professors Gordana Taseva Ilievska, Melita Ivanovska, Vera Miloshevska – Josifovska, Tijana Janevska, Lenche Dimovska, and Antonio Stojcheski.
A chalgiya orchestra and an orchestra with folk instruments will accompany the vocalists, with students performing alongside their professors.
Orchestral arrangements are provided by Dr. Dautovski and Dr. Timko Chichakovski, featuring a unique combination of chalgiya and folk instruments.
