SDSM President Venko Filipche has accused the current government of incompetence and disregard for the real problems faced by citizens, particularly regarding low wages and reduced subsidies. Filipche made these statements at a press conference following his victory in internal party elections.

Filipche asserted that the government, comprised of VMRO-DPMNE, ZNAM, and VLEN, has demonstrated an inability and unwillingness to address the needs of the people during its first 10 months. He criticized the government’s handling of worker salaries, agricultural subsidies, education policies, and the healthcare system.

Filipche announced that a strong and unified SDSM is prepared to challenge the government and offer an alternative path forward, emphasizing fairness, equality, and progress. He stated the recent victory was a joint achievement of SDSM members who share these values, which he believes the current government has abandoned. He won twice as many votes as last time.
