Venko Filipche was elected president of SDSM at extraordinary direct intra-party elections today. He was the sole candidate for the position, which he has held since June 2024 following Dimitar Kovacevski’s resignation. A total of 18,140 out of 23,712 registered voters participated in the election. According to Branko Georgievski, President of the Central Election Commission, Filipche received 18,001 votes, with 139 ballots deemed invalid. The voting occurred at 78 polling stations across all municipal organizations, and the polls were open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
