Vlatko Keshishev, a defendant in the kidnapping and murder case of Vanja and Panche, answered questions from first defendant Ljupcho Palevski, who was turned with his back to Keshishev. Palevski’s questioning followed Keshishev’s prior statement that he was afraid of Palevski.
Palevski inquired whether Keshishev had ever been threatened or mistreated by him, or if defendant Velibor Manev had been threatened. Keshishev denied any such instances. Palevski also questioned Keshishev’s earlier statements regarding a blue backpack, asking why it hadn’t been mentioned in previous statements to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Keshishev responded that he remembered the backpack after seeing it in a video and acknowledged carrying it to the garage.
Further questioning from Palevski focused on headquarters procedures and the presence of weapons. Keshishev stated that nothing could be taken from headquarters without Palevski’s permission. When asked about weapons, Keshishev stated that he had not seen any other weapons at headquarters, except for Palevski’s gun, which had been taken from him six months prior.
Keshishev also testified that he never heard Palevski discussing or arranging anything with Vanja’s father, Aleksandar Gjorchevski. He stated that he learned about the child’s father when they brought him to Beko and he overheard them talking to the child’s parent. Keshishev denied knowing about a photograph of the intended kidnapping victim in Skopje, claiming he first saw the picture of the child when they returned to headquarters and he saw it on Facebook.
