The VREDI coalition attributes the increased taxes imposed on North Macedonia by the United States primarily to the country’s damaged international reputation, not solely to economic issues.
This damaged image, according to VREDI, is a direct consequence of the previous government’s mismanagement and scandals, involving officials from DUI and slanderers from the Macedonian camp, many of whom are now on the American blacklist and are linked by corrupt practices that have harmed the nation.
VREDI emphasizes that the U.S. government’s decision to raise taxes is a clear message that corruption and abuse of power will no longer be tolerated and urges those responsible to apologize to the citizens for the significant harm they have inflicted, rather than concealing their actions behind empty rhetoric or meaningless nationalism.
VREDI concludes that North Macedonia requires new policies, a committed approach to economic improvement, and a restoration of relationships with its international allies, rather than the hypocrisy of those who have contributed to the country’s decline.
