VMRO-DPMNE’s Valentin Manasievski claims that the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) is now opposing the minimum wage solution it previously advocated for when SDSM was the ruling party.
Manasievski states that SSM initially requested the minimum wage be adjusted based on the growth of the average wage and the inflation rate, calculated as 50 percent of the growth of the average wage and 50 percent of the cost of living index, with the minimum wage exceeding 57 percent of the average wage. He emphasizes that SSM agreed to this and celebrated it as a significant achievement, and that VMRO-DPMNE respects the agreement between the trade unions and employers.
However, Manasievski alleges that with SDSM no longer in power, the leadership of SSM, appointed by SDSM and headed by Trendafilov, is now being utilized for political maneuvering and settling scores.
He concludes by accusing SSM of hypocrisy and contradicting its own stance to align with the political agenda of the opposition party.
