Accountants and certified accountants are gathering at a regional conference in Skopje to discuss the future of the profession. Key topics include embracing digital transformation, adhering to international standards, and investing in the next generation of accounting professionals. The conference, organized by the Institute of Accountants and Certified Accountants (IACA), brings together around 500 experts and representatives from various sectors.

IACA’s President, Vesna Prentoska, emphasized the importance of the conference as a platform for building the future of accounting based on integrity, quality, digitalization, and collaboration. She highlighted the evolving role of accountants as advisors and partners in financial management and strategic decision-making.

Panel discussions will explore the implementation of International Accounting Standards and ESG principles, along with the role of young professionals. Experts will share best practices for using AI and Big Data in accounting.

Discussions will also address maintaining ethics and independence amidst technological changes, with a focus on student participation. IACA aims to involve students and young professionals in shaping the future of accounting by gathering their ideas and providing development opportunities.

The Minister of Finance is expected to close the conference, which is part of IACA’s ongoing efforts to promote education, cooperation, and professional development in the accounting field.
